Ken Mowery – President

Ken Mowery’s background in the construction industry stemsback to his first job in a rebar shop during college. During that time he learned the “ins and outs” of the fabrication business while putting himself through college at Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation from college, Ken worked for a leading construction management/general contracting firm in Southwest Oklahoma. In January of 2000, Ken returned to the rebar fabrication industry as the plant manager for Hearon Steel of Oklahoma City. He has been involved in all aspects of the rebar business including estimating, detailing, project management, administration and fabrication. His project experience includes all types of commercial structures, waste water treatment facilities, residential structures, and heavy highway projects. In July of 2010, Ken decided to put all of his experience to use by forming Great Plains Rebar along with Travis Ketter.

Travis Ketter – Chief Operations Officer

Travis Ketter’s background in the construction industry began in 2002 while employed by a general contractor in Oklahoma City. He served as a field engineer and assistant project manager for a multi story cast-in-place concrete job through 2003. In January of 2004 Travis began working in the rebar industry for Hearon Steel of Oklahoma City as Production Manager. Travis has been involved in many aspects of the business other than production including estimating, project management, customer service and sales. His project experience includes commercial structures, waste water treatment facilities, residential structures, and heavy highway projects. In July of 2010, Travis decided to leave his current position in sales with Gerdau Ameristeel and form Great Plains Rebar along with Ken Mowery.

Dave Howe – Vice President

Dave started with Hearon Steel Company as a shop laborer in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1996. After spending time in the shop, Dave was moved to the office to help with barlisting and other production related tasks. In January of 2000, when I rejoined Hearon Steel of OKC as the plant manager, Dave took the lead of the black bar shop in Muskogee and served in that position until we were purchased by Gerdau Ameristeel in July of 2008. From July 2008 until April of this year, Dave served in D.O.T. Sales and Estimating for Gerdau in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Dave brings over 20 years experience in the rebar industry to the Great Plains operations.
